Sinful Colors Soul Mate Stamped

I picked this pretty coral up during the recent $.99 sale, and I wanted to wear it with some contrasting stamping. I posted this manicure on the Facebook stamping group and got some great feedback. I wasn’t thrilled with the way the snakeskin stamping came out, but the people there mentioned double stamping with like a gray or a white even. I wish I had done that, next time I will try it. I love this base manicure color though, fabulous color and decent formula.

I used Sinful Colors Black on Black to stamp with and now that I have it in my mind to try some double stamping I might try it with my beloved leopard print image, m57, as well as BM215. Hope you like the way this manicure came out. I had a lot of trouble because of wind out back. Also worth noting, my XL stamper refused to transfer the image to itself from the image plate and I had to go back inside for my konad stamper. I had heard the XL’s didn’t work on the 2nd Bundle Monster set, but I didn’t believe it until it happened to me.

I will try to do a double or even triple stamping like the Adventures in Stamping ladies inspired me to want to try soon. We should be moved in by mid-October, so that will be fun, to set up my nail station in the garage. Then I won’t have wind as a factor to deal with, messing up my nail art anymore, or my manicures, like how it wrinkled my top coat (Poshe) on the pinky. That was maddening, but I just had to work fast. I can’t wait until I have a place near the side door in the new garage, with a radio set up the way I want it to be. I will post photos for sure. That’s it for now, I wish you all happy polishing.

Orly Sweet Peacock Stamped

I have wanted Sweet Peacock for a couple of months now. I finally picked it up and wow it’s gorgeous! The only problem I ran into was the wind out back drying it out as it was on my brush, before I went to apply it to my nails. I really think that was wind related and not related to the Orly formula. I was pretty impressed with opacity and formula on this polish. This is two coats with Poshe’ top coat, I think it looks incredible on its own, but stamped it looks even better.

I knocked over a bottle of Silver Sweep a few manicures ago, boy what a pain it was to clean that up. I picked up Pure Ice’s Silver Mercedes to stamp with. I thought this was a perfect time to test it out and so I picked Bundle Monster 318, one of my favorite images from the 3rd set of image plates. I used Poshe’ again, and it was a good choice.

I need to get some Seche Restore to thin my Seche Vite, but that will have to wait until we’ve moved though. I can’t wait to set up a nail station in the garage. I’m very excited about that. I plan on having a nice table and storing image plates and other things out there that aren’t heat sensitive. My polishes will have to be stored in my bedroom as always, but it’s going to be fun organizing and ‘spreading out’ once we’re moved in.

I hope that you enjoyed the photographs of this manicure, thank you for reading and I wish you all happy polishing.

Milani Blue Lightening Stamped BM305

I was celebrating a family member’s birthday this weekend and I really love this color, so I figured why not stamp over it? This is two coats of the Limited Edition Milani Blue Lightening and Seche Vite. For the first time I have had shrinkage from Seche Vite. I might be going back to Poshe or even NYC Grand Central Station. Will keep you all posted.

I really hope that the polish I picked up today is as gorgeous on the nails as it is in the bottle, I will be wearing Sweet Peacock in my next entry and most likely stamping it with some flames using my DRK B plate! It’s been an exciting month polish wise. And with us getting our loan approved, wow, it’s like I am on cloud nine! Here is the manicure stamped with BM 305 using Sally Hansen Insta-Dri in Whirlwind White.

As you can see the index fingernail was a little of a fail, but I always tell myself, there's no such thing as a perfect manicure. It's hard when stamping using the XL stamper as it has a white tip, so I thought the image had fully transferred, but it really hadn't. Anyway, I really appreciate the comments on the recent entries and thank you for checking out my blog. Happy polishing!

Layla Ocean Rush Stamped

I am loving this manicure, I feel like my camera winced and failed to capture the holoness of this incredible polish. It’s fantastic in real life, it sings in sunlight but even in low light it’s pretty stinkin’ awesome. I hope you like the photographs, I know I just got the DRK B plate and was anxious to stamp with it, I just wasn’t feeling it for this manicure. So look for a flaming set of nails soon! I went thrifting and found an awesome Cambridge (by Mead) styled zippered binder for $.50 and it was in great condition. I had to pick it up thinking of rehoming my stamping stuff in it. Well everything fit perfectly!

I used two coats of Layla over Nfu-Oh's Aqua Base if you were wondering and application was fantastic! I love these over an aqua base, over other base coat? Not so much. Then as the day went on I stamped (Sinful Colors Black on Black) using my Konad m57 for the leopard print:

I hope you like it, I am enjoying it, but it is coming off today because we finally heard on our home loan! We were approved! I am so excited! No closing date yet but soon! We should be in by the second week of October! So there you have it! I hope you liked the manicure in all its stages. I am on cloud nine today and will probably need more time to organize and pack up so I might be MIA for a few days or couple weeks even as October draws closer.

Just wanted to give you a heads up as I am really excited about setting up a polishing station in my home’s 2 car garage and will definitely take pictures of things to share with you. Thank you for the encouragement and support over the long months we’ve had of looking and disappointment of having the first deal fall through. We have a perfect house for us! Happy polishing everyone!

Peel Off Glue Base? Not for me

I’d love to report that this worked, but as you’ll see below it’s really not a successful removal if your finger nails HURT for ten minutes after ‘peeling’ this polish off. I am disappointed this didn’t work for me. But whatever, for those of you whom it worked for I am glad for you, I will just chalk it up to chemistry. I also had chipping on day one, so this method just was not my ‘holy grail’ as it might be for some of you ladies.

I tried to make it work, but it just isn’t meant to be for me. My nails ache and that’s no good. So it’s fingertip grippers for me! I shouldn’t have set up a whole nail polish bottle of glue darnit. I really wanted this to work. Now just because it didn’t work for me, doesn’t mean it won’t for you, I’ve seen it working for others, so try it and see but don’t go filling up a bottle of glue like I did until you are sure you want to do that. By day three I had four chipped nails and was ready to take it off.

As you can see not one of my nails peeled in a sheet and I did it the same way, using an orange wood stick, as Gina Soguesswhat11 did in the video I shared in my previous blog entry. If you did this method I’d love to hear if it worked for you or not. I seem to be in the minority as it seems to be working for most other people. This was two coats of Holiday Splendor from Color Club and one coat of Seche Vite. One coat obviously of the glue, but it just didn’t work out for me. Thanks for reading and happy polishing.

DRK-B Plate Arrived!

I am so excited that I got my DRK-B Image Plate! It’s awesome, I can’t wait to stamp with it. I just wanted to do a quick post on this, Ninja Polish is fantastic about shipping and getting products to me. I have had great experiences with them and if you were wondering, yes, that was me, I am one of the winners of their giveaways from this past week! Isn’t that amazing? I am delighted that I ordered it Monday after they’d sent the gift certificate to me and here it is in my hands on Saturday! Technically it's my son holding the plate in these:

I hope you like the photos, it’s never easy to photograph a image plate. I have a blog post coming up in a couple of days about the kid’s school glue as a peel off base coat for glitter polish, so far so good. I wanted to let it wear for a few days before doing the removal, but I have seen it work on a video soguesswhat11 did on youtube, so if you’re really interested check it out here:

That’s all I have for you today! Thanks for reading and I wish you happy polishing!

Dance Baby With Full Spectrum

I bring you a lovely manicure with two China Glazes. Dance Baby and Full Spectrum. I was amazed at the formula on Full Spectrum, it was one coat over two coats of Dance Baby and it looks fantastic. I used Seche Vite for the top coat over Dance Baby, and then later after the manicure was set I used Full Spectrum and then topped it off with Poshe. I think I might need a backup bottle of Dance Baby, I’ve worn it about three times this year since I bought it in the spring. This is a previous photo of a manicure with Dance Baby, as I forgot to photograph it before I added the glitter.

Then here it is with Full Spectrum over it. I haven’t tried this with black yet, but with Fall around the corner I will soon.

I also got out to Walmart today and grabbed two boxes of these:

One is for Mother, while the other is all mine! I think they will work great too. They fit just fine, I was worried because I have meaty fingers, but they will do just fine, I’m sure. You cut five cotton pads in half, apply 100% Acetone and then put ½ of one on a fingernail and top it with one of these that will accommodate the cotton pad. You can do all ten fingers, wait five minutes and then all tough glitter polish will be sliding off onto the cotton pads.

I can’t wait to try this, I admit it’s what motivated me to wear glitter again this manicure. I didn’t come up with this, but I sure adore the idea! I saw it on Makeup Alley’s Nail Board from ReesaRN, so a big thank you to her for bringing us a way to remove gorgeous glitters without the need for foil. Happy polishing!

Mother’s Winterberry Manicure

So I got to snap a picture of Mother’s awesome red manicure today. She did two coats of China Glaze Winterberry, with Electrify accent nails. One coat of Electrify, and she added then two coats of NYC Grand Central Station for top coat. I think it looks fantastic, but she said the formula was tough to control, I remember it being a little hard to, as she put it, ‘stay in the lines’ and I think that is just the way to describe it. I hope you like her polishing job! One of these days we’ll get better light for her nail shots.

We also went by Walgreen’s and she grabbed six polishes! I forgot to get the names, sorry about that! That one that looks a little like Cinderella isn't, its a lovely light lilac color, and I was so pleased she added two more glitters, (the red) one glass fleck and the two glitters. Here’s the photo we shot of her first Sinful Colors haul at Walgreen’s:

Thank you for looking and I hope you are having a wonderful Labor Day, happy polishing!

Ninja Polish’s Giveaway

I just wanted to spread the word, in case you have not heard, they are giving away three $25 gift certificates, and all you have to do is “like” their Facebook Page for one chance to win one $25 gift certificate if they hit 2000 likes by Monday night. Maybe even two $25 gift certificates will be given if they get 500 additional “likes” on their Facebook Page. Once you liked the page you can enter adding a recommendation for their website, this is assuming you have ordered from them like I have and can in good conscious leave such a recommendation and feedback.

That is one entry for one random drawing on one $25 gift certificate. Then in another random drawing for a $25 gift certificate they ask that we write reviews on the Ninja Polish website on items that they ask that you can leave honest feedback on. You will need to copy the URL of the products you review and leave them on the Giveaway thread on their Facebook page in a comment. Then there is a Giveaway tab you can use once you’ve “liked” the page, so do that and if you’ve ordered from them make sure to leave a recommendation and product reviews for chances to win!

I just want to say that I honestly like this style of giveaway, it gets them good feedback on their Facebook page and website and reminds people that they’ve been around for six months as this giveaway is in celebration of them being in business for six months. They didn’t ask for us to blog about this or anything, but I have only had positive experiences with ordering from them and wanted to share the info on the giveaway so encourage people to give them a try. They carry a lot of stamping equipment and I am pleased to add the DRK A plate I bought from them this summer is back in stock! So if you’ve been waiting check it out. This is the first photo I took of mine when it got here, totally awesome!

I don’t do posts like this too often, only when I too have entered and LIKE the giveaway offered by a particular company will I post about it on my blog. I hope you’re enjoying your Labor Day Weekend! I know we are here! No news on the home front yet, still working on the financing and that can take a little while. Happy polishing!

China Glaze Sunshine Pop & Blonde Bombshell

I had to remove my Purple Panic manicure since I had chipping on my index fingers and middle fingers, that would have led to loss of length for sure if I had not taken the time to redo them last night. I had my son outside with me, he eagerly watched every little stroke I made and offered to help by opening the bottles. It was pretty sweet. This is two coats of Sunshine Pop and one of Blonde Bombshell with Seche Vite as top coat.

The formula on Sunshine Pop is great, streaky on the first coat, which evens out after the second coat. Blonde Bombshell needed a little shaking to redistribute the glitter, but it was pretty good too. I wish you all a very happy Labor Day! I’m very pleased this manicure came out as well as it did, I hope you like it, I might stamp over it, we’ll see. Happy polishing.

China Glaze Purple Panic

I had planned on stamping this manicure, but it’s already chipping. All the neon polishes I own chip within a day or two. Pretty discouraging, but I’ve heard that’s normal for neon polish. So I have a couple of photos I took of this manicure yesterday, but it’s really looking bad today. Oh well. This is two coats, with my usual Beauty Secrets Moisturizing Base Coat, and Seche Vite for Top Coat.

Not sure if I will be redoing this manicure tonight or not. I probably will. I will be resisting buying any new neons after this. One thing worth noting, Sinful Colors will be on sale at Walgreen’s on Sunday through Saturday. I really hope they get the new magnetics in soon too. I’ve seen reviews both ways for these, and will get one to try out for myself. Then I’ll report on it. Thank you for checking out Nail Soup! I wish you happy polishing!
