Another Fergie, Blue Eyed Soul

I bring you a lovely blue today, Fergie’s Blue Eyed Soul, very pretty both in the bottle and on the nail. I have had a thing for these polishes lately. I am including a picture of the brush this time around as I meant to mention it before, but it’s a very wide brush. It is hard to get your pinky without getting polish on the skin at the sides. But with a little practice it is possible, at least on the left hand. I am very impressed with the brand so far, they are wearing well for me, I got five days without any chipping on my Miami Spirit manicure and I got nearly a week on my Make Them Boys Go Loco manicure.

Onto the polishes I used, I went with my usual base, the Beauty Secrets Moisturizing Base Coat, only this time rather than applying Instant Artificials on over the color I put it on over the base coat. When I did the red manicure I had some of the color bleed into the applicator brush, so I wanted to try something different. Then I applied two coats of Blue Eyed Soul, but it easily could have been a one coater, so I am thinking it might stamp well. It’s almost a metallic denim blue, my camera did its best to capture the color, but I suggest checking out Walgreen’s for this one to see it in person. And I have temporarily put aside my Seche Vite for now, in favor of Sally Hansen’s Insta-Dri Anti-Chip Top Coat which is working out well for me.

I let them set for 45 minutes before stamping using one of my new Winstonia plates, W111 and the polish I went with was Pure Ice Silver Mercedes. It was perfect too. I was delighted that my XL stamper worked this time, my previous manicure for Sunday’s St. Patrick’s Day manicure, it gave me trouble and I had to use my konad stamper. Luckily it might have been the combination of Maybeline’s Bold Gold from the Metallic Color Show collection. At any rate, I think the results speak for themselves. I used NYC Grand Central Station for my top coat after the stamping like I like to do, because for me it hardly ever smears my work. Thank you for reading and I wish you happy polishing.

    1. I am so glad to hear that Janet! I searched and wasn't able to really find any swatches of Blue Eyed Soul, so I decided that I wanted it regardless and would post my own swatches of it stamped and on its own. It's a gorgeous polish, the silvery undertones are gorgeous, I have nothing like it in my collection.

While I think Bold Gold is awesome most of the time, I will remember to use my Konad stamper with it from now on if it gives me trouble again. Thanks for your reply! :)
